Our planet, Earth, has experienced a catastrophic geological event. a massive tidal wave hit cannon beach at 1:00 am. The tidal wave was located off the coast of california. It was nearly 1800 m high. It has washed away most of the topsoil and deposited it on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean sea bed. All people with the exception of my small group have died. We survived only because we were climbing the highest mountain in the world at the time of the event. Most of the Earth is unfit to live on.
B. Problem:
How does my small groiup of suvivors work together to create a miniature biosphere to live in until the Earth is able to slowly regernerate?
C. Survival Plan:
We will use our knowledge of the Earth's Crust, mixtures & solutions, heat, & biology to create a survival plan to create a miniature biosphere. We will take any left over sand to help grow plants and while we wait for plants to grow we will hunt in the water for fish,crabs, and whatever eles we could eat. With are lighters that we found barried deep in the sand we will make a fire to cook are food and stay warm.
Plan:
Step 1: Chose a place.
We will make a miniature biosphere 15 or 20 miles from the beach that way it is easy to get water and soil!
Step 2: Design/plan a shelter.
We plan to take rocks and sand to help make are biosperes walls hard and solid. Any glass we could dig up or find we would use for a roof that when the sun was out it would keep use warm along with the plants. we will have a tini room to store food and water so none of it goes to waste! the biospere would be about 2 acers big!
Step 3: Build a structure.
Are structure will be in a hole about 10 feet deep and 2 acers long. The reason we dug a hole was because it will givw us some protection if another tidal wave comes it will not destroyed us or at least only the top of are biosphere. are walls will be made out of a little glass for light to get in and the rest of the wall will be made of rocks and in the gaps between the rocks we will put sand. Any left over glass we will use on part of the roof to let plants grow and have warmth on a sunny day. In are mini biosphere we will have a tini room that is just used to store water and food it will be made out of only rocks and sand no glass! This room is so we do not waste any food or water! We will also have a fire place so in winter so we can stay warm and boil water so we have clean water to bath in, drink, give to are horse and cooking are other food! (Are horse wi8ll help us bring sand, rocks and any thing eles we need back to are biosphere.)
Step 4: Grow food.
We are going to grow are food by useing sand and water from the beach we will go to the closest mountin to try and find seeds to grow plants. But untill the plants grow we will be fishing for fish or hunting on the beach for crabs. (Are fishing rod will be made out of a long and bendable stick and some long hair or a shoe lace.) We will also boil and cook are food over are fire! When are plants are ready to be replanted we will use are horse to help us plow the soil!
Step 5: Clean water.the earth crust and how the whole world works.
We will build a fire with are lighter we dug up on the beach, and make the water clean by boiling it over the fire. That water is what we will give to are plants and are 1 horse that helps use plow are plants; we will also drink and bath in this water! We think we should not have to worriy about running out of water!
Step 6: Clean air.
We will be able to go outside so clean and fresh air is not a problem! we just would only go outside every now and then because there is nothing outside but broken/ fallen stuff like trees and buildings. But in are mini biosphere there is 20 days worth of clean air.
Step 7: Recycle.
We would recycle by replanting are foods, seeds and not throughing out are unused water. We will also recycle by useing any dead trees for fire would and not cutting down little trees!
D. Conclusion:
The way we would survie this tidal wave would be by working togeather and useing are nolage of earths crust ans how the whole world works! The best way we could survie is by trying to work togeather and beleving in each other. If we don't give up we can do anything and over time the planet will regrow and mabey become better then it was before. If we don't have another giant tidal wave we should survie a-ok! In are little biosphere we will live for at least 50 years: if not longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
